TRANSIT THROUGH JORDAN

Transit to Saudi Arabia through Jordan.

Cargo arrives at Aqaba by sea or at Queen Alia Airport by air, crosses Jordan to the Durra, Al-Mudawwara or Al-Omari crossing, and we carry it on to your address inside Saudi Arabia.

Container truck on an open highway at golden hour, the road stretching toward the horizon

Most of what moves on this lane is cargo passing through: it lands at Aqaba, crosses Jordan, and exits at one of the three crossings into Saudi Arabia. Because the destination is Saudi and not Jordanian, the cargo never enters the Jordanian market and no Jordanian duty is collected on it.

The real difference from the Iraq lane is that we do not stop at the border here: we carry on to the consignee's address inside Saudi Arabia. Clearance on entry into Saudi Arabia, however, sits with the consignee — and we say so at the start so the plan is built on it.

Three crossings, each opening on a different direction.

Choosing the crossing is not an administrative detail — it sets the road, the distance and the arrival time.

  • Durra – HaqlThe closest crossing to Aqaba, on the Gulf of Aqaba coast, opening onto Saudi Arabia's north-western coast.
  • Al-Mudawwara – Halat AmmarSouthern Jordan, serving traffic out of Aqaba and Ma'an towards the Saudi north-west and beyond.
  • Al-Omari – HadithahEast of Amman, the crossing taken by traffic heading for Riyadh and central Saudi Arabia.
  • How we chooseWe fix the crossing against the delivery address rather than out of habit, because a shorter run to the border can be a longer run to the door.

Crossing conditions change with maintenance work and operating hours, so we confirm them when planning each shipment instead of assuming them.

Two doors in, three doors out.

Cargo enters Jordan by sea at Aqaba or by air at Queen Alia Airport, and leaves through whichever crossing suits its destination.

  • Arrival by seaAqaba is Jordan's only seaport, with container, RoRo and break bulk terminals.
  • Arrival by airQueen Alia Airport when the cargo cannot wait — spare parts, equipment, urgent consignments.
  • The Jordanian filingWe complete the Jordanian side and tie the consignment to its documents before it moves.
  • The truckLoaded onto equipment that suits the unit, with the route and the crossing fixed before departure.
  • The crossingExit formalities on the Jordanian side, then entry on the Saudi side under the consignee's clearance.
  • DeliveryOnce released, we carry the cargo on to the delivery address inside Saudi Arabia.

We do not put a transit time here: it varies with the crossing and the destination, and we will not publish a figure before fixing one for your shipment.

Five families, and what changes for each.

What we move to Iraq we move to Saudi Arabia, but what has to be fixed before departure differs family by family.

  • Dry cargoContainers and general cargo — the backbone of the lane, running the standard route end to end.
  • ReeferAn unbroken cold chain from quay to crossing and on to delivery, with border time counted inside the plan.
  • Cars and vehiclesArriving by RoRo or in containers, with chassis numbers fixed on the paperwork before loading.
  • Project cargoOut-of-gauge pieces whose route and crossing are fixed before the price, not after it.
  • Heavy equipmentMachinery moved on flatbeds, lashed and documented before it travels.

Dangerous goods move by prior arrangement, because the approvals come before the booking rather than after it.

What we handle, and what stays with the consignee.

The lane runs smoothly when each side knows its limit before booking, not after the cargo reaches the border.

  • Commercial invoiceA value and a description that match what the truck will actually carry.
  • Packing listPiece count, weights and dimensions as they will be loaded, not as they were planned.
  • Sea or air waybillDepending on the entry point; the consignment is tied to its paperwork through it.
  • Saudi conformity certificateIssued through the SABER platform for regulated goods, and obtained by the importer in Saudi Arabia rather than by us.
  • Saudi clearanceThe consignee's or their agent's. We carry and deliver; we do not clear on entry into Saudi Arabia.

What we do handle: the whole Jordanian side, the run to the crossing, and the delivery to your address once the cargo is released.

Shipping to Saudi Arabia — answers.

Do you deliver inside Saudi Arabia, or only to the border?

We deliver to your address inside Saudi Arabia. That differs from the Iraq lane, where our part stops at the Karameh–Trebil crossing.

Who handles customs clearance on entry into Saudi Arabia?

The consignee or their agent. We handle the Jordanian side, the transport and the delivery; we do not clear on entry.

Which crossing do you use?

Durra, Al-Mudawwara or Al-Omari, depending on the delivery address. We fix the crossing with the shipment plan before loading.

Can cargo arrive by air and continue by road?

Yes. It lands at Queen Alia Airport and continues by truck to the crossing and on to the delivery address.

Do you move refrigerated cargo?

Yes. The cold chain is planned from quay through to delivery, with border time counted inside the plan rather than after it.

Do you move cars and heavy equipment?

Yes — by RoRo, in containers, or on flatbeds depending on the unit. The route is fixed before the price.

How long does the run take?

It varies with the crossing and the delivery address, and we do not publish a general figure. Send us the destination and we will fix the time with the quote.

Which papers do we start with?

The commercial invoice, the packing list and the waybill. We check them before arrival rather than after, because a correction before arrival is a document and after it is a delay.
